Test Results - Kovu
Call Name: Kovu
Estate Pearls Quiller
DOB: 11/27/2024
Echocardiogram:
Patella Result:
Kovu’s gums are currently healthy, but he arrived to us with calicivirus, which can sometimes cause gum inflammation. After being neutered and receiving a dental cleaning, his gums settled down and have remained stable.
Out of an abundance of caution, Kovu was used for one litter only before being retired from our breeding program.
Hip Results: Passed!
DNA Result:
Kovu carries one copy of PKD. This is not a concern in our breeding program because all of our queens have tested clear for PKD. PKD is an autosomal recessive condition, meaning kittens would only be at risk if both parents carried the variant. By ensuring every breeding pair is genetically compatible, no kittens from Kovu are expected to be affected by PKD.
