Caspian Test Results

Caspian’s OFA preliminary evaluation and PawPeds results indicated mild laxity on one side; however, her PennHIP assessment offers a much more complete view of her joint health. PennHIP showed no radiographic evidence of osteoarthritis in either hip, and her distraction indices remain better than the Maine Coon breed average. This gives us strong confidence in her overall hip integrity.

Beyond her hip evaluations, Caspian is exceptional in structure, temperament, and overall type. With thoughtful pairing, cats like her can contribute meaningfully to long-term breed improvement. She will be bred once to our OFA Good male, whose strengths complement her well, and we plan to retain a kitten to continue her line.

Ethical breeding is about informed, intentional progress—preserving exceptional qualities while gradually strengthening areas that benefit from selection. Caspian’s planned pairing reflects this balanced, responsible approach.
